Bay/Bow Windows

Aluminium Bay Windows

Bay windows add space and light to your home and can increase its appeal by the expansive use of glass. They can make a room look lighter and brighter, and suit most property styles. Using fitted casement windows, you can control air flow and ventilation by having more than one window open in a bay at a time.

The windows are hinged on one side and opened by a handle with multi-point locking. Modern bay windows are thermally efficient, secure and come in a range of styles and colours.

Aluminium casement windows for bays are most often double glazed, although some can now be triple glazed to improve performance even further. This style of window has a sash which is encompassed within the frame, meaning they can easily achieve a minimum of a C energy rating, and will often achieve an A energy rating with relatively low-cost glazing. The range of colours available maximises the appeal of your house and they can be installed in conservation areas, or in heritage or period houses, without compromising on performance or design. The thermal efficiency of casement windows contributes towards lower energy bills.

Traditionally, if the window has brickwork which follows the contour of the window, it is know as a bay window, if the brickwork is flush and the frames project over the brickwork, it is commonly called a bow window. The make up of the window frames in a bay or bow are no different, however.
